This patch isn't reason enough to say that the Steam version is 'way better' than the GOG one, they're still basically the same game. If, on the other hand, you value DRM-free, customer-friendly practices more than sheer 'practicality', and support GOG, get the GOG version. I still stand by what I said earlier: if you like Steam more than GOG, and prefer the overall Steam/community/social experience, then, by all means, get the game on Steam. I didn't even find the loading times to be that big an issue. I have no problems whatsoever when playing my GOG copy of Deadly Premonition, and my computer is utter crap. People keep talking about that patch as if it's that big of a deal.
